Procedure: Liposuction of the
abdomen and bilateral axillary areas (near crease
of armpit).
Patient
Concerns: This 40 year old female was
5’8” tall, weighed 140 pounds. She
exercises regularly but was concerned about the
‘poochiness’ of her abdomen and the
marked fullness of tissue in front of her armpit.
Dr.
Markus’ Treatment: Unfortunately,
some bulges and disproportion cannot be lost through
mere diet and exercise. Suction lipectomy was
performed. Internal ultrasound was used in the
abdomen and axillary areas to break up fat cells
and adhesions. This technique allows the doctor
to attain smooth results when treating the firm
fibrous tissues of these areas. A total of 1300ccs
(3 pounds) of fat tissue was removed. The marked
fullness of the axillary areas was greatly improved
without placement of long incisions.
Patient
Comments: In six weeks, she went from
a size 6 to a size 4. Most noticeable to this
patient was the feeling of her arms not rubbing
next to her upper chest. She is extremely pleased
with the results.
