Though a facelift can enhance your appearance and your
self-confidence, it probably won't transform you into
your idealized image. Before you decide to have surgery,
you should think carefully about your expectations and
discuss them with Dr. Markus. The best facelift candidates
are those who seek improvement, not perfection.
Facelifts
are generally performed on patients between 40 and 70,
but many people in their 70s and 80s also get very good
results. You may be a good candidate for a facelift
if you:
- Have
a deep line that runs from the corner of your nose
to the corner of your mouth
- No
longer have a well-defined jawline
- Have
deep wrinkles on your cheeks and sagging skin near
your cheekbones
- Have
loose skin, wrinkles or excess fatty tissue in your
neck.
Patients
with uncontrolled high blood pressure, problems with
blood clotting, or who form excessive scars must take
special precautions, so make sure you discuss these
conditions with Dr. Markus.
