Though eyelid surgery can enhance your appearance,
it probably won't transform your appearance to match
an idealized image. Before you decide to have surgery,
you should think carefully about your expectations
and discuss them with Dr. Norman Markus. The best candidates
are those who seek improvement, not perfection.
Blepharoplasty can help you look less tired and more
alert, but it cannot remove the dark circles from under
your eyes or crow's feet. If your brows sag, you may
need to combine eyelid surgery with a brow lift. To
remove fine wrinkles, you may consider having laser
resurfacing along with your eyelid surgery.
Be sure to discuss any ophthalmic conditions, (e.g.,
detached retina, glaucoma or low tear production) you
may have with Dr. Norman Markus. In addition,
high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid conditions,
and heart conditions may also affect your candidacy
for surgery.
