Procedure: Endoscopic Brow Lift.
Patient
Concerns: This 46 year old female
was 5’4” tall and weighed 130
pounds. This patient was concerned about
bilateral brow drooping and brow asymmetry
with the right brow lower than the left.
She had transverse (horizontal) creases
across her forehead and glabellar (vertical)
crease lines between her brows. This patient
was also concerned with the fullness of
the upper and lower eyelids with a marked
amount of upper eyelid skin and she underwent
upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
at the same time.
Dr.
Markus’ Treatment: This patient
underwent endoscopic brow lift with removal
of a portion of the corrugator muscles (frown
muscles). In addition, the patient’s
forehead was tightened and brow line was
elevated to allow for symmetry on both sides.
Raised elevation was accomplished at brow
arch to allow for enhanced and symmetric
brow shape.
Patient
Comments: “I had blepharoplasty
and a brow lift on December 9, 2000, and
I am thrilled with the results. We had my
husband’s company holiday party about
3 weeks later, and I was recuperated enough
that there was no residual bruising or swelling
at that time. After the surgery I was unable
to visit with my best friend until last
week, close to 2 years after the surgery.
When she first saw me, she did not remember
that I had had the surgery, but when I reminded
her, she marveled at the changes. I have
had many people tell me that I don’t
look my age, which is 48. That would not
be true if I had not had the surgery. The
changes are subtle and mostly make me look
less tired, plus, I can now wear eye shadow,
which would have been wasted prior to the
surgery, since no one would have been able
to see it. I have never regretted what I
did, and would never hesitate to recommend
it to anyone considering it.”
